Libyan Police Academy Officers Completed Child Rights and Child Protection Training with UNICEF
Zarzis, Tunisia, 18 December 2014 – Fifty officers from the Libyan Police Academy concluded training on Child Rights and Child Protection in Zarzis, Tunisia. The two rounds of training organized by UNICEF Libya country office focused on international standards and best practices in dealing with children in contact with the law.

UNSMIL Encouraged by Parties' Dialogue Commitment, Calls on Forces to Disengage in the Oil Crescent
17 December 2014 - The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) is encouraged by the positive response to its invitation for a UN-convened Libyan political dialogue. The move by the parties to identify their respective delegations to the talks is a step in the right direction, reflecting their commitment to find a peaceful solution to the current political and military crisis in Libya through a dialogue process. UNSMIL will continue its consultations with the parties over the coming days to finalise preparations for the dialogue, including details of the venue and timing.

UNSMIL Calls for End to Military Escalation, Stresses Dialogue Efforts Continue Despite Violence
15 December 2014 – The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) condemns the sharp military escalation in Libya. The Mission is in contact with both sides to the conflict and is calling for an immediate cessation of military operations to give the Libyan political dialogue a chance.

The War Abused Me: Campaign sheds light on armed conflict's psychological, physical impact on women
11 December 2014 - Within the context of the 16-Day Campaign for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, which began on 25 November (The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) - and through the Women's Empowerment Section and in cooperation and coordination with Women of Change Organization along with a psycho-social support team, the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) initiated a campaign under the slogan “The War Abused Me”.
