UNSMIL Condemns the Escalating Fighting, Affirms its Ceasefire Efforts Continue
Tripoli, 21 August 2014 - The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) condemns the continuing fighting in Tripoli and Benghazi, especially the indiscriminate shelling of residential neighbourhoods and public facilities as well as the use of aircraft in military operations.

UNHCR Press Release: Humanitarian aid for displaced families west of Tripoli
Tunis, 18 August 2014 - The UN Refugee Agency through its partner organizations International Medical Corps (IMC) and Taher Al Zawia Organization sent on Saturday a two trucks convoy with humanitarian aid from Tunisia into Libya, the first one since the beginning of the current crisis. Several thousand people recently displaced by on-going fighting in and around Tripoli received urgently needed medical supplies and relief items including blankets, sleeping mats and baby diapers. The distribution was still ongoing on Monday.

UNSMIL Condemns Escalation and Urges Parties to Respond to Ceasefire Efforts
Tripoli, 17 August 2014 - The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) condemns the grave escalation in the military confrontations in Tripoli and its suburbs. The Mission strongly denounces the shelling of residential neighbourhoods, which has inflicted casualties among civilians, forced them out of their homes and caused damage to property.
