Tunis, 07 April 2015 – Mr. Ali Zarzour, Mayor of Al Baydaa and Dr. Ghassan Khalil, UNICEF Special Representative for Libya signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to support children of Internally Displaced Persons and their families

The MOU also includes technical support on how to deal and to handle overcrowded classrooms at schools.

"We are glad to join hands with UNICEF to protect children of IDP families." said Mr. Ali Zarzour.

Dr. Khalil stated, "UNICEF remains committed to working with elected municipalities in Libya, especially following the meeting organized by UNSMIL and hosted by the European Union in Brussels in late March 2015".

Both parties will work in the spirit of cooperation and partnership, bearing in mind the responsibilities contained in this Memorandum of Understanding
