UNSMIL Calls for Calm after Helicopter Crash West of Tripoli, Regrets Loss of Life
28 October 2015 – The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has learnt of the crash of a helicopter near Zawiya west of Tripoli on 27 October 2015, reportedly killing all passengers onboard, including military officers and brigade commanders.

Senior Officials Meeting in London Pledges to Support a new Libyan Government
London, 19 October 2015 - Representatives of 40 countries, UN Agencies, and international bodies, as well as a number of independent Libyan experts, met in London on 19 October at a meeting co-hosted by the UK and UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to agree the most effective way to support a new Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA).

Statement of the Misrata / Tawergha Joint Committee, 11 September 2015
The Misrata / Tawergha Joint Committee met in Tunis, Tunisia, on 09-11 September 2015 under the auspices of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), on the basis of previously reached agreements. Participants studied the victims' file as part of the strategy to resolve the issue of return. They agreed to set out a clear plan for reparations for the victims in terms of classification and harm and setting up a working mechanism in this regard.

Leon to Meet with General National Congress Representatives in Istanbul 01 September 2015
31 August 2015 - The Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya, Bernardino Leon, will hold consultations on Tuesday 01 September 2015 in Istanbul, Turkey, with representatives of the General National Congress to discuss ways to move forward the Dialogue process with a view to reaching a peaceful solution to the political crisis and military conflict in Libya.

Skhirat, Morocco, 27 August 2015 - A round of Libyan political dialogue facilitated by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) commenced Thursday 27 August 2015 in Skhirat, Morocco. Discussions are focusing on expediting the dialogue process with a view to finalising the Libyan Political Agreement, including reaching agreement on a Government of National Accord.

UNSMIL and Int’l Community consultations on support to future Libyan Government of National Accord
Tunis, 25 August 2015 - The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) convened a meeting with Member States, regional organizations, non-governmental organizations and UN Agencies, Funds and Programs working on Libya on the support to a future Libyan Government of National Accord. It was intended to serve as a forum in which the international community discusses and agrees on principles for international assistance to Libya, a way forward and a coordination mechanism, should international assistance be requested by the GNA.
