Martin Kobler Congratulates Libyan People on the Advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan

The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Martin Kobler, congratulates the Libyans on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan. He extends his warmest wishes to the people of Libya and the Libyan authorities.

“It is also a period of charity, forgiveness and reconciliation, where differences are put aside,” Said Martin Kobler. He calls on all Libyans to renounce the disputes and put an end to the national divisions and fragmentation during this holy month. “Let the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, guides you and foster your solidarity so that peace in unity may prevail in Libya,” added the Special Representative.

In this spirit, Martin Kobler also appeals to all sides holding detainees to take this opportunity to release those illegally detained as a gesture of forgiveness and goodwill.
