Statement Attributable To The Spokesperson For The President of the General Assembly

President of General Assembly Strongly Condemns Violence directed at US Diplomatic Personnel and Premises in Egypt and Libya

The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, strongly condemns the violent attacks against United States diplomatic personnel and premises in the Libyan city of Benghazi, where four US diplomats, including Ambassador John Christopher Stevens as well as Libyan employees of the Consulate, have been killed.

President Al-Nasser extends his condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims and to the Governments of the United States and Libya.

The President of the General Assembly also condemns the attacks against United States diplomatic personnel and premises in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

He calls for bringing to justice those responsible for these attacks that have been committed in violation of international law.
