Statement by Members of the Libyan Political Dialogue, Malta 11 November 2016
Members of the Libyan Political Dialogue met on 11-12 November 2016 in Malta. They discussed the developments of the political process and the obstacles that obstruct full implementation of the Political Agreement. They agreed to further discuss the issue in the upcoming Libyan political dialogue in mid-December.

Libyan Female Parliamentarians Conference Starts in Tunis Today
Tunis, 10 November 2016 – Female members of the Libyan House of Representative (HoR) kicked-off a three-day conference under the theme ‘Together We Can, Together We Work, Together We Advance For Peace’. The conference aims at promoting the role of female parliamentarians and enhancing their capacities to play a leading role in promoting reconciliation and realizing social peace and stability in Libya. To maximize learning, the conference organizers invited female Parliamentarians from Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Niger, Sudan and Niger to share experiences and best practices.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced today the appointment of Maria do Valle Ribeiro of Ireland as his new Deputy Special Representative and Deputy Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), where she will also serve as United Nations Resident Coordinator, Humanitarian Coordinator and Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
