04 Feb 2021 - Assistant Secretary-General and UNSMIL Coordinator Raisedon Zenenga met today with the Head of the Presidency Council Fayez Serraj.
They discussed current developments in Libya and ways to strengthen UN support to Libya, in light of the momentum generated by the ongoing Libya Political Dialogue Forum process and the progress on the other tracks of the Berlin process.
02 Feb 2021 - Switzerland, 2 February 2021 - Today, on the second day of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) meeting in Switzerland which has convened to select a temporary unified executive authority to take Libya to national elections on 24 December 2021, the members of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum cast their votes for members of the Presidency Council.

27 Jan 2021 - As the political process continues to make progress through the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum towards securing the necessary conditions for the holding of national elections on 24 December 2021, the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) stresses the importance of the holding of municipal elections, and reiterates its call on the unification of the electoral authorities for municipal council elections in Libya.
23 Jan 2021 - The co-chairs of the International Follow-Up Committee for Libya Security Working Group (SWG), represented by the African Union, France, Italy, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), met on 20 January 2021 with the 5+5 Joint Military Commission (JMC).
22 Jan 2021 - On 21 January, the co-chairs of the International Follow-Up Committee on Libya’s Economic Working Group (EWG), including Acting Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya Stephanie Williams and representatives of Egypt, the United States and the European Union, convened a meeting to discuss urgent economic issues including the need to manage the impacts of a unified exchange rate as well as the need to unify and consolidate a national budget.
20 Jan 2021 - 20 January 2021 - The Constitutional Committee formed by the House of Representatives and the High Council of State held a meeting between 19-20 January in Hurghada, The Arab Republic of Egypt, and agreed on holding a constitutional referendum before the general elections on December 24th. UNSMIL thanks the Egyptian authorities for their generous hosting of this meeting.
19 Jan 2021 - 19 January 2021 - Following the agreement on a proposal for the selection mechanism of a unified executive authority, reached by the Advisory Committee of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) in Geneva on 16 January, the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) conducted a one-day voting process, from Monday 18 January 10:00 AM to Tuesday 19 January 10:00 AM, during which the LPDF members were asked to cast their vot
19 Jan 2021 - Hurghada, 19 January 2021 - The Libyan Constitutional Committee started its second meeting today with the participation of two delegations from the House of Representatives and the High Council of State, each comprising 10 members. The meeting, generously hosted by the Egyptian Government in Hurghada, is convened to discuss the constitutional arrangements necessary for the holding of elections on December 24, 2021.
