Opening of the Exhibition “Through Ordinary Eyes” Highlights Everyday Life in Nicosia

Exhibition “Through Ordinary Eyes”

The exhibition “Through Ordinary Eyes,” organized by the Technical Committee on Culture, opened this week, showcasing photographs that capture the everyday life of Nicosians from across the island. The exhibition brings together images reflecting ordinary moments, shared spaces, and common experiences of people living in Cyprus’s capital.

The project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme, in coordination with the Office of the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Cyprus (OSASG Cyprus). It forms part of ongoing efforts to support bicommunal engagement and promote mutual understanding through cultural and creative initiatives.

By presenting daily life as seen by residents of Nicosia, the exhibition offers a snapshot of everyday experiences across the city. Cultural initiatives of this kind contribute to broader efforts to encourage interaction and understanding between people from different backgrounds.

The exhibition is one of many initiatives supported within the framework of the Cyprus peace process that aim to build trust and encourage cooperation at the community level.
