Political and Peace Implementation

The Office of Support to the Political Transition (OSPT) is at the forefront of UNITAMS activities as an integrated Special Political Mission. OSPT will support the mediation and good offices functions of the SRSG in the provision of scalable support to Sudan's peace process and the implementation of peace agreements, and advise the SRSG on all relevant aspects of Sudan's peace process and political transition in line with the mandate outlined in UNSCR 2524 (2020).

Within UNITAMS, the OSPT will lead on key mandate areas including providing technical assistance to the Sudanese constitutional processes. OSPT also monitors, reports and analyzes political, economic and security developments in Sudan and regional developments that impact Sudan's political transition.
