Tripoli, 13 September 2012 - The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General (SRSG) and Head of the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Mr. Ian Martin, extends his warmest congratulations to H.E Mr. Mustafa Abushagur on his election as the new Prime Minister of Libya
SRSG Martin also congratulates the General National Congress on the transparent process to elect Libya's Prime Minister.
SRSG Martin reiterates the readiness of UNSMIL and the the UN family in Libya to work closely with Prime Minister Abushagur and his upcoming government as well as with the GNC to support Libya's democratic transition and their efforts in addressing the country's priorities
