SRSG Hanna S.Tetteh on the occasion of Eid al-Adha
As Libyans prepare to mark Eid al-Adha, I extend my warmest wishes to you and your families.
This sacred occasion is a time for reflection, sacrifice and compassion—a reminder of the strength that comes from unity, and the importance of helping one another through times of hardship.
In this spirit, I urge all those with influence and responsibility to continue to uphold the fragile truce reached after the fighting on 12 and 13 May. The preservation of peace must remain our collective priority. The use of force to settle disputes only deepens divisions. Lasting solutions can only come through inclusive dialogue and peaceful engagement.
Eid al-Adha is a moment to come together—as families, as communities, and as a nation. It is a time to renew our commitment to solidarity and to supporting one another. These are the values that can help Libya move forward.
The United Nations remains your partner in building a peaceful, stable and unified Libya.
Eid Mubarak to all.
