STEP 2:

    Within limit of delegated authority, the incumbent will perform the following functions:

    Secretary of Local Property Survey Board (LPSB):

    • Assembles, copies, distributes papers, case presentations, memoranda and agendas to the members of the Board before each LPSB meeting.
    • Prepares cases for submission. Participates, documents and follows-up on all the Committee meetings.
    • Ensures that all documentation is promptly submitted, and case files are correctly established.

    Secretary of Local Claims Review Board (LCRB):

    • Assembles, copies, distributes papers, case presentations, memoranda and agendas to the members of the Board before each LCRB Meeting.
    • Drafts, reviews and applies policies, procedures, objectives and guidelines affecting claims.
    • Drafts correspondence as required.
    • Acts upon instructions issued and decisions taken by the same board.
    • Reviews supporting documents attached to claims to verify accuracy and reasonableness while ensuring compliance with UN Rules and Regulations.
    • Consolidates requests for claims or reimbursement according to the mission’s delegation of authority for resolving claims.
    • Ascertains that the case files are accurately updated in the CRB database.
    • Maintains the integrity and the update of case files, registers and other cross references.
    • Forwards to HCRB all the cases requesting their consideration and review.
    • Prepares Administrative Write-off (AW) cases and correspondent summary for approval by the Chief Mission Support, providing clarifications and information when requested.
    • Compiles reports on Settlements of Claims to be sent to UNHQ for their consideration on a semi-annual basis.
    • Updates Accidents/Incidents database and facilities the monitoring of any repetitive misconduct.
    • Drafts correspondence as required.
    • Perform other tasks as required.

  • Job description

    The incumbent shall assist in making provision of vehicle and Material Handling Equipment maintenance and repair services in support of surface transport activities in UNSMIL in accordance with the functional responsibilities of the Maintenance Workshop Unit.

    Within limits of delegated authority, the incumbent may be responsible for the following duties:

    1. Provides assistance in the maintenance and repair of UN-owned vehicles in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s standards for automotive electrical system including Electronic Vehicle Monitoring System (EVMS), air conditioning system, suspension system, braking system (including ABS system) and body work and painting.
    2. Assists in conducting diagnostic and fault finding; quality control/assurance; road testing; vehicle recovery.
    3. Identifies reasons for technical faults.
    4. Assists in conducting vehicle inspections.
    5. Carries out product upgrades initiated by a vehicle manufacturer.
    6. Contributes in the preparation of reports to document workshop performance (including personnel matters), vehicle warranties, vendor support and other workshop related activities.
    7. Enters and updates information in the Electronic Vehicle Monitoring System (EVMS) and fuel log software packages.
    8. Participates in the liaising with the manufacturer representatives for after sales warranty and technical fault claims.
    9. Assists in identification of requirements for spare parts, hand tools and workshop floor equipment.
    10. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Job description

    Within limits of delegated authority, the incumbent may be responsible for the following duties:

    1. Makes deliveries of parcels, documents, etc., between the office and institutions, e.g. Ministries, Embassies, Permanent Missions, etc.
    2. Makes minor purchases and collect urgent purchases from local suppliers as requested. Collect goods from the customs with due regard to customs regulations and formalities. May make or collect payment for goods.
    3. Drives vehicles safely for the transport of authorized personnel and for the transport of general cargo goods.
    4. Collects and delivers mail, documents, and other items.
    5. Meets official personnel at the airport.
    6. Deals effectively and tactfully with officials and visitors.
    7. Takes care of the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles, check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.; perform minor repairs and arrangements for other repairs and ensures that vehicle is kept clean.
    8. Performs VIP and Standby Driver duties.
    9. Assists the workshop in the preparation of trucks for field trips, such as changing wheels, cleaning air filters, and general check-over.
    10. Logs fuel consumption, maintenance etc.
    11. Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of an accident.
    12. Acts as a team lead; assigns tasks/ shifts to junior drivers.
    13. Performs other duties as assigned.
