The UN Security Council yesterday issued a press statement in support of the agreement signed by the Smaller Convening, saying that it represents an important step towards the holding of free, fair, transparent and inclusive national elections, and the promotion of the unification of Libyan institutions to meet the aspirations of the Libyan people.
The members of the Security Council commended the Libyan parties for their positive engagement, stressed the importance of supporting the agreement from all parties and encouraged them to work towards its realization.
