    14 Aug 2017 - Tunis, 14 August 2017 - During the first quarter of 2017, UNCIEF in partnership with the National Centre for Disease Control and the Ministry of Education conducted an in-depth assessment of the quality of water and sanitation facilities in 140 schools in west, east and south of Libya.

  • UNICEF Regional Director's visit to a Child Friendly Space in the Municipality of Janzour in Tripoli, Libya. The CFS is implemented by Al Nahla Organization, a UNICEF national partner since 2015 who provide psychosocial support for vulnerable children displaced by the conflict to Janzour.

  • 06 Aug 2017 - Al- Qubbah, 6 August, 2017 -  On his second day in Libya, Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya Ghassan Salame met with the Libyan House of Representatives’ President Agila Saleh in his residence in al-Qubbah. 
  • 06 Aug 2017 - The UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Libya, Maria Ribeiro, expresses concerns over reports of severe shortages of basic necessities, including life saving medical supplies due to the conflict in Derna. This is has a negative impact on people’s health and wellbeing and, if prolonged, would lead to serious humanitarian conditions.
  • 05 Aug 2017 - Tripoli, 5 August 2017 - The Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya Ghassan Salame arrived in Tripoli today and met with President Faiez al-Sarraj, Presidency Council (PC) members and the Head of the High Council of State, Abdulrahman al-Sweihli.
  • 04 Aug 2017 - Tripoli – IOM Director General William Lacy Swing returned to Tripoli earlier this week, where he reiterated that Libya remains IOM’s top priority. In what was his second visit to Libya this year, Ambassador Swing along with Vincent Houver, IOM’s Deputy Director of the Department of Operations and Emergencies, Othman Belbeisi, IOM’s Chief of Mission in Libya and other IOM Libya staff met with the Prime Minister Fayez al Serraj. 
  • 30 Jul 2017 - Tunis – On 27 July, IOM organized its first charter flight to Ghana. The flight which departed from Tripoli’s Mitiga airport provided return assistance home for 138 stranded migrants – 135 men and 3 women as well as one medical case.
