05 Aug 2021 - TRIPOLI, 5 August 2021 - The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) will facilitate a virtual meeting of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) on 11 August to consider the outcomes of the LPDF's Proposals Bridging Committee (PBC) and next steps following the conclusion of the Committee’s deliberations that took place on 16, 27 and 30 July and on 2 August, resulting in four proposals for the constitutional basis for the elections on 24 December.

Four proposals were introduced during your meeting on Saturday. You then agreed on the following:
One, that there is no disagreement on the recommended 61 percent threshold for the first round of voting on the proposals to be presented to the LPDF, and a simple majority for the two proposals that proceed to the second round. I trust that this is a decision we can now lock in so that it is not reopened for discussion by this Committee.
03 Aug 2021 - Mission Coordinator of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Raisedon Zenenga on Monday 2 August facilitated the fourth and final virtual session of the Proposal Bridging Committee (PBC) of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) The aim of the PBC meetings was to agree on one or more bridging proposals, building on the Legal Committee’s draft, for a constitutional basis for the upcoming national elections on 24 December 2021.

30 Jul 2021 - SIRTE, 30 July 2021 - The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) welcomes the official opening of the Coastal Road, in the presence of UNSMIL, effective 30 July 2021. The Mission congratulates the Libyan people, national and local authorities, institutions, and stakeholders involved, especially the role of 5+5 JMC in this landmark and historic achievement.
27 Jul 2021 - On July 26, Economic Working Group Co-Chairs, represented by UNSMIL Coordinator Raisedon Zenenga, EU Ambassador Jose Sabadell, US Special Envoy, and Ambassador Richard Norland, and Egyptian Ambassador Sarwat Selim, met with Prime Minister Abdulhamid AlDabaiba and representatives from the Government of National Unity, the House of Representatives and the Central Bank of Libya to discuss the budget impasse and explore options to address the country’s pressing needs.
25 Jul 2021 - At the invitation of Libya’s House of Representatives (HoR) and in line with its mandate to facilitate the holding of parliamentary and presidential elections on 24 December 2021 and provide electoral assistance as set out in Security Council Resolution 2570 (2021) and the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) Roadmap, the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) accepted the invitation to provide support to the work of the HOR Committee, established pursuant

16 Jul 2021 - Upon the request of members of the Proposals Bridging Committee of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF), the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) facilitated, today, a virtual meeting of the Committee to continue the efforts to find common ground and complete the development of a constitutional basis that will enable the holding of national elections on 24 December 2021in line with the LPDF roadmap.
15 Jul 2021 - As agreed by the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) during the conclusion of the meeting in Switzerland on 2 July, and, as part of the continuing efforts to assist Libyans in securing all necessary arrangements and requirements to ensure the holding of national elections on 24 December this year, the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) will convene a virtual meeting of the LPDF Proposals Bridging Committee on 16 and 17 July.
