29 Sep 2020 - Hurghada, 29 September 2020 – Delegations representing the Government of National Accord and the “Libyan Arab Armed Forced,” and comprising police and military officers, have concluded two days of security and military talks, facilitated by UNSMIL, in the city of Hurghada (Egypt).
28 Sep 2020 - On 28 Sep 2020, in Hurghada, Egypt, military and police teams from eastern and western Libya met and began security and military talks, in the framework of the ongoing (5+5) Joint Military Commission talks, with the facilitation of UNSMIL.
25 Sep 2020 - Tunis - On 23 September, Acting UN SRSG Stephanie Williams and the Ambassador-designate of the European Union to Libya, José Sabadell, as the rotating chair of the Economic Working Group (EWG) established by the Berlin Process, convened a meeting with the new leadership of the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) to discuss plans to address the unacceptable electricity crisis in the context of the Libyan efforts to reopen the energy sector.
21 Sep 2020 - TRIPOLI/TUNIS 21 September 2020 – The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) are expanding their support for food insecure refugees and asylum seekers in Libya with emergency food assistance in response to the severe socio-economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country as well as the effects of the ongoing conflict.
18 Sep 2020 - TRIPOLI, 18 September 2020 - The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) convened virtually the third meeting of the Libyan Economic Dialogue. The meeting, held yesterday, was chaired by Acting SRSG Stephanie Williams and brought together 29 Libyan economic experts along with representatives from UNDP and the World Bank, to discuss the progress in the economic track and review the policy road map developed as part of the Berlin process.
