02 Jun 2017 - 02 June 2017 - The UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Libya, Maria Ribeiro, calls for increased protection and support to humanitarian assistance for internally displaced persons (IDPs) across Libya.
The humanitarian community is following with concern recent developments in the Tawargha IDP camp in Janzour, Tripoli and the possible return of IDPs from Zintan to Tripoli.
31 May 2017 - The World Health Organization (WHO) country office in Libya delivered on 28 May 2017, 5 (five) Emergency Trauma Kits on 28 June to treat 500 moderate and serious injuries to Brak Alshaati (Alzwaya Center and Bergen Hospital). Recent conflict in Brak Alshaati killed about 140 people and inflicted more than 200 moderate to serious injuries. The World Health Organization confirmed continued humanitarian commitment and support to all over Libya.

Libya – So far in 2017, IOM Libya has assisted 4,030 stranded migrants to return home from Libya through its voluntary humanitarian return (VHR) programme.
The latest return was last Thursday (25 May), when IOM helped 165 stranded migrants – 145 men and 20 women – return home to Nigeria. Among the passengers were three unaccompanied children and two female medical cases.
29 May 2017 - Libya - IOM Libya’s Displacement Tracking Matrix is expanding its programme by increasing its Flow Monitoring coverage to 35 baladiyas, launching a pilot of Detention Centre Profiles and developing rapid response assessment capacity.
27 May 2017 - The members of the Security Council condemned the military escalation in southern Libya including the attack at Brak al-Shati on 18 May, which reportedly resulted in the summary executions of combatants and civilians.
26 May 2017 - The Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) for Libya and Head of the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Martin Kobler, is following reports of ongoing fighting in Tripoli with grave concern. The SRSG calls on rival groups to stop fighting immediately and put Libyan national interest first.
