06 Oct 2019 - Tripoli, 06 October 2019 - The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) is appalled by an airstrike conducted by General Haftar’s forces, targeting the Equestrian Club in Tripoli’s Janzour neighbourhood. The airstrike, which took place today in the afternoon, reportedly injured a number of innocent children and caused damage to the Club’s facilities.

29 Sep 2019 - A group of 66 vulnerable refugees was evacuated from Libya to Rwanda last Thursday, 26 September on a UNHCR-chartered flight. They are the first to benefit from the Emergency Transit Mechanism, recently agreed and set up by the Government of Rwanda, UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and the African Union.

30 Aug 2019 - Tripoli, 30 August 2019 – As her assignment in Libya has come to an end after two and half years of tireless work and dedication, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Libya, Ghassan Salamé, expressed his sincere appreciation for his Deputy, the UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator for Libya, Ms. Maria do Valle Ribeiro, and welcomes the arrival of her successor Mr. Yacob El Hillo. -
