  • 14 Dec 2017 - Tripoli, 14 December 2017 - Seventeen senior officers of the Libya Presidential Guard completed today a week-long training on international human rights law in Tripoli, conducted by the Human Rights office of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL). The 17 participants included heads of divisions, as well as the Presidential Guard’s own training office.   
  • 13 Dec 2017 - Tunis - The World Health Organization (WHO), in collaboration with the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in Libya conducted a two-day planning workshop (8-9 December) on “Strengthening Health Information System for Patients living with HIV/AIDS”. The workshop was held in WHO Libya office located in Tunis.

    12 December 2017, Tunis - In continuation to the efforts aiming to enhance the capacities of health personnel and improve access to medical supplies in Libya, the EU-funded WHO project “Strengthening Health Information System and Medical Supply Chain Management (SHAMS)” is currently conducting an introductory training workshop on "Pharmaceutical Inventory Management".

  • 08 Dec 2017 - Tunis, 8 December 2017 - The UN electoral support project “Promoting Elections for the People of Libya (PEPOL) benefitted today from a contribution of 1 million Euros from the Federal Republic of Germany. The contribution agreement was signed by the Ambassador of Germany to Libya, Dr. Christian Buck and the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary General and Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Libya, Ms. Maria Ribeiro. 
  • 05 Dec 2017 - Tunis, 4 December 2017 – H.E. French Ambassador to Libya, Ms. Brigitte Curmi and Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary General (DSRSG) and of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Libya, Ms. Maria Ribeiro, signed the agreement for France’s contribution to the UN electoral project “Promoting Elections for the People of Libya (PEPOL)” in a ceremony that took place today at the French Embassy to Libya, relocated in Tunis.
  • 04 Dec 2017 - The World Health Organization (WHO) country office in Libya delivered on 29 November 2017 Two (2) Mechanical Ventilation Units with all the accessories to Tragen Hospital – South of Libya which is among the most vulnerable and underserved area in Libya. These mechanical ventilation units are used to save lives by assisting or replace spontaneous breathing in Intensive Care Unit cases.
  • 04 Dec 2017 - On 24 November, the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) successfully completed the delivery of a two-week training course on Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) for 16 Libyan National Safety Authority (NSA) and Military Engineers from Tripoli and Benghazi. The two-week training of trainers training aimed to strengthen the capacity of the Libyan authorities to carry out Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) more safely and effectively. 
  • 30 Nov 2017 - Tunis, 30 November 2017 – The United Nations Development system and the Ministry Planning convened a workshop on the Draft Strategic Framework for Libya for 2019-2020. The workshop brought together various participants from Libyan institutions, civil society and international partners.
