TRIPOLI – Libyan citizens from across the country are encouraged to ‘Have Your Say’ and contribute their ideas and recommendations on the themes of the Structured Dialogue (SD) by completing the online survey with results being fed back into the SD discussions, and to UN leadership.

The survey, which has key questions covering the four tracks of the SD – governance, economy, security and national reconciliation and human rights – is open to all Libyan citizens until 1 April 2026.

Data will be collected throughout Ramadan and then shared with the SD members and UN leadership to help inform decision making and ideas around implementation mechanisms to ensure that the SD recommendations are feasible and effective.

“This process is not about the UN telling Libyans what they need. The point of the Structured Dialogue is that it is made up of Libyans, working with other Libyans to find solutions and ways forward,” said Special Representative of the Secretary General, Hanna Tetteh. “All Libyans have a role to play in shaping the future of this country. By completing the survey everyone can put their thoughts forward and we will ensure they are fed into the discussion process which is being facilitated by UNSMIL.”

Results of the survey will be published online during April after they have been analyzed and synthesized.

The work of the Structured Dialogue aligns with UNSMIL’s mandate to use its good offices to facilitate an inclusive, Libyan-owned and -led political process, without determining outcomes, and to advance consensus on establishing a conducive environment to enable the holding of national elections, the unification and strengthening of state institutions, and long-term stability.
