The participants focused on the Security Council and Rome Conference emphasis on the importance of comprehensive Libyan national dialogue to reach consensus on major national priorities to ensure progress in the transitional process and to preserve national unity and stability.
The Special Representative stressed that national dialogue, in its various forms and instruments, is a national Libyan matter conducted at the request and under the auspices of the Libyans.
The participants considered that countries supporting Libya need to contribute in urging all parties to hold dialogue and to facilitate it. They should also provide support to the efforts of the United Nations, in line with its mandate, including the provision of appropriate technical assistance, to promote dialogue and strengthen its prospects.
