31 May 2016 - Tunis, 31 May 2016 - Thirty leading figures from southern Libyan, representing various national and local institutions, gathered yesterday in the Tunisia capital to attend a three-day round-table, from 30 May to 01 June, to discuss the region’s major challenges and the way forward. The round-table is organized by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) and UN Development Programme (UNDP).

25 May 2016 - 24 May 2016 – Twenty four electoral staff from Libya’s High National Elections Commission (HNEC) completed today a workshop on Logistical support in electoral operations administered by the UN Electoral Support Team to Libya, which brings together resources from UNSMIL and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The training took place in in Tunis, Tunisia, between 22 and 24 May 2016.
25 May 2016 - Libya – The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) organized a Technical workshop and coordination meeting for Libyan partners on saving lives of migrants at sea on 24-25 May in Tunis.

07 May 2016 - Special Representative of the Secretary-General and head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) Martin Kobler strongly condemns the attack on demonstrators in al-Kish Square in Benghazi in the afternoon of 6 May. According to UNSMIL's information, four people, including a woman and a 12-year-old child, were killed, and dozens injured. Reports indicate that a number of rockets or mortar shells hit the square where a group of people was demonstrating.
03 May 2016 - Amman, Jordan - 29 April 2016 - Building on recommendations from two preparatory meetings 19-25 April that examined conflict-sensitive approaches, Libyan journalists, with UNESCO facilitation, have proposed a code of ethics outlining common standards for Libyan journalists to apply when reporting during times of crisis.
