15 Feb 2017 - The Special Representative of the Secretary General for Libya and Head of the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Martin Kobler, reiterates his full support to the Libyan Political Agreement and its institutions and warns Libyan actors against seeking to achieve political gains by force. UNSMIL is following with concern reports on the formation of parallel military forces under the name of ‘National Guard’ and their deployment in Tripoli and the surrounding areas.

07 Jan 2017 - In a first for Libya, solar power panels have been installed at the Abu Sleem Accidents and Emergency hospital in the capital Tripoli to offer steady electricity for the hospital’s Intensive Care unit.Similar installations will be offered to three other hospitals in Tripoli: Ali Omar Askar Neuro Surgery, Tripoli Medical Centre and Cordoba Centre for Services and Renal Hemodialysis.

14 Nov 2016 - Tunis, 14 November 2016 - UNICEF together with senior officials from the Ministry of Local Government and the Delegation of the European Union held a workshop in Tunis, Tunisia on the commitment and partnership for young people in Libya. Within the framework of the programme ’Towards Resilience and Social Inclusion of Adolescents and Young People’, UNICEF will aim to address priorities of education, child protection and other priorities of youth in Libya. -
11 Nov 2016 - Under the theme ‘Together We Can, Together We Work, Together We Advance For Peace,’ Libyan female members of the House of Representatives (HoR) will convene A 2-day conference in Tunisia. The conference brings together women parliamentarians from Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Libya, Niger, Sudan and Tunisia. The objective is to advance the role of women parliamentarians, enhance their skills and build alliances with women parliamentarians in neighbouring states.

10 Nov 2016 - Tunis – Female members of the Libyan House of Representative (HoR) kicked-off a three-day conference under the theme ‘Together We Can, Together We Work, Together We Advance For Peace’. The conference aims at promoting the role of female parliamentarians and enhancing their capacities to play a leading role in promoting reconciliation and realizing social peace and stability in Libya.
