The specific venue and exact timing of this round are subject to the completion of the logistical and security preparations.
29 Jan 2015 - 29 January 2015 - Participants in the UN-facilitated Libyan political dialogue have discussed during their meeting in Geneva this week the venue for holding the future talks.
There was agreement on the principle of convening future dialogue sessions in Libya, provided that logistical and security conditions are available.
UNSMIL calls on all stakeholders to join the talks in an open and constructive spirit.
29 Jan 2015 - New York, 28 January 2015 - The Secretary-General condemns, in the strongest terms, the attack that took place at the Corinthia Hotel, in Tripoli on 27 January. He expresses his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives as a result of this despicable act. Terrorism has no place in the new Libya and will not undermine the ongoing political dialogue which the United Nations is facilitating.
26 Jan 2015 - Libyan parties convened on Monday 26 January 2015 a new round of dialogue hosted by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.
This is a followup to the meeting held in Geneva on 14-15 January 2015. Participants will start discussing the items that were agreed on in the last meeting.

24 Jan 2015 - 24 January 2015 - At 11:30 am on 23 January 2015, unidentified gunmen opened fire from a passing car at members of the Diplomatic Police on guard duty outside the office of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Tripoli, Libya.
One of the policemen was severely wounded and later died in hospital.
The Diplomatic Police are investigating to determine the circumstances and the motives behind this drive by shooting.

18 Jan 2015 - 18 January 2015 – The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) welcomes the unilateral announcements by the parties in Libya for a ceasefire to resolve the conflict peacefully through dialogue. The Mission calls on the parties to work with UNSMIL on the specific elements of the ceasefire, including the mechanism to ensure compliance with it.
