26 Jan 2018 - World Health Organization (WHO) strongly condemns the double car bombing in Al-Salmani district in Benghazi on 23 January 2018 which killed and injured scores of civilians. WHO extends its condolences to the victims' families and renews its humanitarian commitment to support Libyans throughout the country.
WHO staff and focal points arrived at the venue shortly after the deadly attack and started to provide support to Health authorities in Benghazi involved in treating the injured.
25 Jan 2018 - New York, 24 January 2018 - The Secretary-General condemns the double bombing in Al-Salmani district of the Libyan city of Benghazi on 24 January 2018 and deplores the loss of civilian life, including children. The Secretary-General expresses his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and wishes the injured swift recovery.
The Secretary-General is also alarmed by reports of summary executions being carried out in Benghazi in retaliation for the attack.
24 Jan 2018 - Tripoli, 24 January 2018 – At least three children are among 35 people reported killed in a twin car bombing in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi on Tuesday night. Around 60 people, including children, have been injured.
22 Jan 2018 - Tripoli, 18 January 2018 – Following the armed clashes that took place in Mitiga Airport and surrounding areas in Tripoli, the World Health Organization (WHO) country office in Libya delivered urgently one Emergency Trauma kits type B to the Field Hospital in Tripoli, which is operated by the Ministry of Health’s Administration of Wounded.
