The Secretary-General condemns, in the strongest terms, the attack on the French Embassy in Tripoli on 23 April and sends his sympathies to the victims and their families. The targeting of diplomatic missions and their staff is not acceptable and never justifiable.
21 Apr 2013 - TRIPOLI, 21 April 2013 – The Libyan Higher Judicial Institute (HJI) and UNICEF have launched a comprehensive capacity building programme for judges, prosecutors, and others involved in the judicial system in Libya, with the aim of preparing a solid ground for building a juvenile justice system in Libya. The Higher Judicial Institute has also hosted and led, with UNICEF's technical support, a 3-day consultation on drafting a Juvenile Justice Law.

These acts violate fundamental human rights, particularly the freedom of faith and freedom of expression.
28 Feb 2013 - TRIPOLI, 28 February 2013 – Some 40 percent of the schools in Libya were damaged in the 2011 revolution according to a report released by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and UNICEF today. These findings are based on a recent nationwide school assessment conducted by the MoE and UNICEF, which for the first time has given the Ministry a complete overview of the exact state of all schools in the country.
