23 Jul 2015 - 23 July 2015 - The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) is deeply concerned about the renewed clashes in southern Libya, particularly in the cities of Sabha, al-Kufra and Awbari, and calls for an immediate end to the violence. Reports indicate that the recent fighting in Sabha has resulted in scores of people killed, including three women and four children.
11 Jul 2015 - Skhirat, Morocco, 10 July 2015 - The Special Representative of the Secretary General for Libya (SRSG) convened a number of meetings with a group of participants in the Libyan Political Dialogue and representatives of the municipal councils of Misrata, Sebha, Zleitin, Tripoli the Centre and Mislata to consult on means to support the Libyan Political Dialogue. Participants are convinced that it is important to provide clear guarantees to the dialogue parties for some items in the Agreement.
01 Jul 2015 - GENEVA, June 30 (UNHCR) – Increased fighting in Libya since the start of the year had led to almost a doubling in the number of displaced people in the country to more than 434,000 from an estimated 230,000 last September, the UN refugee agency reported on Tuesday.
UNHCR said the numbers could in fact be higher because the agency has limited access in the country and is running its operation there by remote management.
