Structured Dialogue: Economy Track advances discussions on economic policy and accountability, and begins drafting outcome document

UNSMIL is mandated by the Security Council to facilitate an inclusive political process, support ceasefire implementation, and advance national reconciliation. The mandate was extended through 31 October 2026 by Security Council resolution 2796 (2025)

The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) is mandated by the Security Council to use its good offices, in full respect of Libyan ownership, to support an inclusive political process and broader stabilisation efforts. UNSMIL facilitates political dialogue and elections; supports national reconciliation, transitional justice, and the protection and promotion of human rights; assists Libyan efforts to reunify state institutions and reduce arms, ammunition, and explosive remnants of war; prevent renewed conflict; promotes the participation of women, youth, and civil society; and coordinates humanitarian assistance, recovery, and reconstruction with Libyan authorities and international partners.
