Life saving kits and supplies handed over to Sirte and other hospitals

On 19th of April, WHO supplied 13 Trauma Kits and 14 Incubators to Hospital in Sirte, Bani Walid, Tripoli, Zliten, Assabia, El Khadra and Benghazi. One Trauma Kit is sufficient for 100 major surgical procedures and each kit contains all essential trauma care supplies and medicines.

This is support is part of WHO’s effort to maintain the supply chain of life-saving medicines and supplies intact. WHO thanks ECHO for providing funds for these supplies and the batch of subsequent medical supplies which are in the pipeline through ECHO support.

“I thank ECHO for its continuous support for Libya enabling WHO to keep the supply of life-saving medicines intact. Making sure that these supplies are procured through a transparent process and delivered at the user end is a challenging phenomenon which WHO is very well achieving” said Dr Jaffar Hussain, WHO Head of Mission Libya and Tunisia
