10 December 2016 - The Special Representative to the Secretary General and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Martin Kobler, is deeply worried that civilians remain in Qanfouda despite the unilateral ceasefire announcement by the Libyan National Army (LNA).

The cities of Sirte and Sebha will receive a package of $US 10 million dollars aimed at rebuilding the battered health and education sectors as well as water and power supplies for their residents, estimated at about 250,000 before most of them fled the fighting.

On Human Rights Day, we remember the Libyans who rose up six years ago against an autocratic regime, demanding freedom, dignity and justice for all.
