Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya Bernardino León called at a conference in Madrid on Wednesday 17 September 2014 for coordinated efforts to ensure the success of Libya’s transition, stressing that Libya’s stability is a regional and international interest.

GENEVA / TRIPOLI (4 September 2014) – Serious violations of international human rights and humanitarian law are taking place in the Libyan cities of Tripoli and Benghazi with dire consequences for civilians and civilian infrastructure, a new UN report warns.

Tripoli, 10 September 2014 - The Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya, Bernardino Leòn, continued his discussions with Libyan political actors on ways to end the fighting and begin a political process to draw the country out of the current crisis.
