Special Representative of the Secretary-General Meets Libyan PM

Tripoli, 19 August 2013 – The Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya, Tarek Mitri, met with Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zeidan on Sunday 18 August 2013.

Discussions cDiscussions covered the current situation in Libya and the Arab world. The Prime Minister briefed Mr. Mitri about the latest political and security developments in Libya. They also discussed a number of tasks carried out by the United Nations.

Mr. Mitri affirmed that the situation in Libya is a matter of high interest for the United Nations. He stressed the continued close cooperation with the Libyan authorities, saying the United Nations will continue to provide the technical support and advice in building and reforming State institutions according to Libyan national priorities.overed the current situation in Libya and the Arab world.
