Tripoli, 14 February 2013 - The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Tarek Mitri, extends his warmest congratulations to the Libyan people, Government and the General National Congress on the occasion of the second anniversary of the 17 February Revolution. that brought down the tyrannical regime that ruled Libya for forty years.

Mr. Mitri reiterates on this occasion the United Nations' firm commitment to continue supporting Libya's democratic transition efforts and meeting the aspirations of all Libyans for sustainable peace, security, stability and prosperity.
