Secretary-General Remarks on the Launch of the Un Strategy on Libya at the High-Level Event on Libya20 Sep 2017 - New York, 20 September 2017 Allow me before starting to say that I believe this meeting can have an historic significance. And we badly need to find solutions. It is my deep belief that there is an opportunity for a political solution in Libya.

20 Sep 2017 - New York, 20 September 2017 Six years ago, the Libyan people were promised a transition of 18 months. Their transitions continue, and if no action is taken, no end is in sight. Since my appointment, I have done my utmost to meet with Libyans from across the country, to listen to their thoughts and hear about their lives. One message has been resoundingly clear. Libyans are fed up with transition.

13 Sep 2017 - Geneva, 11 September 2017 - Libya continues to present one of the most complex mixed migration situations in the world, with refugees traveling alongside migrants through perilous routes, surviving dangerous desert crossings and abuses that include sexual violence, torture, detention in inhumane conditions and abductions for ransom.
