03 May 2016 - Amman, Jordan - 29 April 2016 - Building on recommendations from two preparatory meetings 19-25 April that examined conflict-sensitive approaches, Libyan journalists, with UNESCO facilitation, have proposed a code of ethics outlining common standards for Libyan journalists to apply when reporting during times of crisis.

27 Apr 2016 - 27 April 2016 - Special Representative of the Secretary-General and head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) Martin Kobler condemns the killing of 3 Libyan and 12 Egyptian nationals in a series of incidents in Bani Walid on 26 and 27 April.
"I strongly deplore these terrible killings and call on those with authority on the ground in Bani Walid to ensure that the incidents are investigated and to prevent any further killings" said Martin Kobler.

Amman, Jordan, 19 April 2016 - Within the framework of UNESCO’s regional programme supporting freedom of expression, two consecutive training workshops for Libyan journalists on conflict-sensitive reporting were launched today in Jordan. The twenty-five participants came from many different parts of Libya, as well as Tunis, Cairo and Amman, representing a wide variety of media outlets.
