10 Nov 2020 - UNSMIL strongly condemns the killing of lawyer Hanan al-Barassi, who was shot today, in broad daylight, in Benghazi by unidentified armed men. Ms. al-Barassi had been a vocal critic of corruption, abuse of power and human rights violations. Her tragic death illustrates the threats faced by Libyan women as they dare to speak out.

09 Nov 2020 - In order to advance the implementation of the Ceasefire Agreement signed in Geneva on 23 October 2020 and to build on the progress achieved last week in Ghadames, the 5+5 Joint Military Commission will re-convene for a sixth round of talks from 10 to 13 November in its new permanent headquarters located in the city of Sirte (Libya), with UNSMIL support.
08 Nov 2020 - UNSMIL welcomes the decision by the Civil Aviation Authority on 4 November 2020 to permit the resumption of flights to all airports in the Southern region of Libya. This decision is a product of the confidence that has been built as a result of the October 23 ceasefire agreement and the follow-up talks of the Joint Military Commission in Ghadames on 2-4 November.
