Open Source Analyst - Consultant - Tunis

Duties:

The Consultant will provide JARH with dedicated open source analytical expertise and help develop its social media monitoring capacity, include sentiment analysis and social network analysis. The Consultant will map relevant media and social media outlets and develop a social media monitoring plan with an implementation mechanism. The Consultant will also monitor and assess trends and dynamics in Libya through social media, with view to identifying threats to mandate implementation, and contribute to the development of JARH products.

The Consultant will be required to travel to Libya to perform part of his/her tasks. This includes meetings with mission counterparts in-country and Libyan representatives (such as research centers and NGOs). The destination of her/his travel will be locations for which UN security assessments will have been undertaken.

Deliverables:

The Consultant is required to:
a) Conduct a mapping of Libyan open sources, with a special focus on social media outlets;
b) Develop a social media monitoring plan with an implementation mechanism (including sentiment and social network analysis);
c) Conduct social media-based open sources monitoring and analysis and contribute to drafting regular JARH products, including visualization of information.
