Remarks by SRSG Bernardino Leon at a news conference with Moroccan Foreign Minister, 07 March 2015

Remarks by Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya Bernardino Leon at a news conference with the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs In Skhirat, Morocco, on Saturday 07 March 2015:

We will continue working today. This morning on different elements. There is a constructive and positive spirit. We will continue. I insist that the most important is the positive spirit and the determination to reach an agreement.

The (Moroccan Foreign) minister just hosted a meeting, which although it was not officially part of our talks it has been symbolically a very important meeting, because for the first time participants in this dialogue got together and this has a lot of value for the United Nations and for the evolution of this dialogue. We have continued working this morning and continue working in the afternoon on the substantial issues. Things are positive, constructive.

Interventions are in a good spirit. But we will have to continue working because we are dealing with very difficult and complex issues and this still is going to take a few days.
