26 Jun 2014 - Tripoli, 26 June 2014 – The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) condemns the assassination of Salwa Bugaighis, the prominent Libyan personality and member of the Preparatory Committee for National Dialogue.
Once again, Benghazi witnesses a bloody attack, the last of a series largely targeting civilians. UNSMIL calls on Libyan authorities to thoroughly investigate the assassination and bring the perpetrators to justice.
18 Jun 2014 - Tripoli, 18 June 2014 - The Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya, Tarek Mitri, briefed ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions in Libya on the recent discussions at the Security Council as well as the reasons and circumstances behind the indefinite postponement of the Libyan dialogue meeting, which was scheduled for 18 June 2014.

The meeting aims at allowing the opportunity for a peaceful and objective dialogue leading to agreements that support the political process, create a positive atmosphere ahead of the upcoming elections and emphasize the importance of full respect for its outcome.
17 Mar 2014 - Tripoli, 17 March 2014 – Japan is contributing US$5.2 million to the Voluntary Trust Fund for Assistance in Mine Action to facilitate the clearance of explosive remnants of war, a program coordinated by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).
13 Mar 2014 - The UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) and the Libyan Mine Action Centre (LIBMAC) launched the 2014 Portfolio for Assistance in Humanitarian Mine Action and Arms and Ammunition Management, seeking to raise from international donors an additional US$17 million for this year to support efforts to rid Libya of the explosive remnants of war.
