07 Aug 2019 - The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) is deeply concerned at the continued enforced disappearance of House of Representatives lawmaker Siham Sergawa. Ms. Sergawa was brutally abducted from her home in Benghazi on 17 July by a unit of gunmen who injured her relative and husband during the abduction.

05 Aug 2019 - Tripoli, 05 August 2019 - The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) is extremely concerned by reports on the continuation of acts of violence in Murzuq, including of a number of airstrikes last night which resulted in many deaths and injuries amongst civilians.
UNSMIL also expresses grave concern over the ongoing communal violence in Murzuq, which has in the past few days led to the deaths of around twenty people and injuries of many others.

UNSMIL welcomes the initiative, and any other initiative proposed by any of Libya's major actors and offers its good offices to assist the country to emerge from its long state of transition towards a period of peace, stability and prosperity.
