16 Sep 2017 - As part of its effort to promote human rights and to elaborate a national reconciliation strategy in Libya based on an inclusive dialogue and a multi-stakeholders consultation, UNSMIL has facilitated a two-day workshop under the theme “Addressing Arbitrary and Prolonged Detention in Libya within a National Reconciliation Framework” on 13-14 September in Tunis.
15 Sep 2017 - Tunis, 15 September, 2017 – The Government of Italy contributes Euro 1,000,000 to UNICEF in Libya for supporting a multi-sectoral programme to enhance the quality and delivery of services for conflict affected children and their families. The programme will focus vulnerable children living in under-served areas in Libya such as Sebha and Benghazi.

08 Sep 2017 - 8 September, 2017 - UNSMIL categorically denies circulated news reports claiming that the UN plans to deploy a UN peacekeeping force to Libya.
The Special Representative has repeatedly said that UNSMIL is progressively returning to Libya, increasing its staff presence including security personnel who are tasked with only guarding the UN staff inside the UN compound in Tripoli.
07 Sep 2017 - Tunis, 6 Sep 2017 – UNICEF Libya country office, in partnership with Al Zawiya Security Directorate, conducted a two-day workshop to review the achievements, challenges and lessons learned from the Family and Child Protection Unit of Al Zawiya, Libya.
30 Aug 2017 - Tunis , 23 August 2017 - Within the context of the Net-Med Project funded by the EU, UNFPA Libya CO jointly with UNESCO , organized a “training of trainers on Public policies “ from 23rd to 26th August 2017 in Tunis , Tunisia.
The workshop involved the participation of 10 young man and woman who are active in their communities from different Libyan municipalities ( Tripoli , Misrata , Sirt , Benghazi , Sebha ).
29 Aug 2017 - On 21 August, the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) started a new phase of its project on Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) risk awareness in Libya, kindly supported by the Italian Development Cooperation Agency.
